YT Industries launch a new Capra

YT Industries launch a new Capra enduro bike range with multiple new options. Return of the GOAT II. The new generation of the YT Capra.

Return of the GOAT II: New World Order

YT releases the new generation of the CAPRA and drops a daunting sequel to the initial movie ‘Return of the Goat’: ROTGII – New World Order. There is no escaping this time. The Goatman is back and has brought all his mates along for the ride.

The new CAPRA delivers a highly addictive fusion of appealing design & sophisticated engineering that results in stunning trail performance. YT introduces two breeds of the CAPRA, which both feature a 29-inch wheel up front. The 29er CAPRA caters to racers and weekend warriors looking to head out on big enduro laps with their mates. The MX CAPRA, which sports a playful 27.5 rear wheel and the superior rolling capability of the 29-inch wheel in the front, relates to shredders and park rats looking for shuttle laps, big hits, and gnarly downhill. But YT hasn’t just slapped on the different wheel sizes onto the same frame.

The team of engineers and designers have developed two bikes, two different frames for the two different playgrounds. Both frames have a steeper seat angle, slacker head angle, and increased reach compared to the award-winning current CAPRA. The rear triangles have purpose-built seatstays and customized suspension kinematics – shorter seatstays and increased end-progression for the MX builds versus longer seatstays and slightly reduced progression for the 29er version. While maintaining stiffness and strength has kept the legendary capability for demanding riding, YT has significantly improved pedaling kinematics, enhanced the suspension capability, and developed a more aggressive geometry while improving fit and rider positioning.

CAPRA MKIII Core4 - YT Industries

The CAPRA is currently available for pre-order in three different variations – additional Core and Uncaged models are already in the works and will be announced over time. The CAPRA Launch Edition is MX-only, available in frame sizes M to XXL, and is limited to 100 bikes worldwide. The CAPRA Core 4 and CAPRA Core 3 models come in all sizes from S to XXL and are available in two wheel size configurations. The 29-inch-wheel set-up allows for 170 mm travel up front and 165mm of rear travel, while the MX set-up generates plenty of pop with 170 mm worth of fork travel and 170mm on the 27.5’’ rear wheel. “The 29-inch front improves stability and roll-over characteristics, while the 27.5-inch wheel still delivers that liveliness and agility many of our customers love about the 27.5. Our development team did a lot of testing with both options. We feel the MX version truly delivers the best of both worlds. We also have received a lot of positive feedback in the past two years from DECOY owners, who rode mixed wheel-sizes on the E-enduro from day one”, Markus Flossmann, Founder and CVO of YT, explains.

CAPRA MX Launch Edition – A true GOATMAN’s rig

The ROTG II paintwork is a looker and the Ultra Modulus (UM) Carbon Frame is covered in details referring to the campaign film. Its uniqueness doesn’t stop there though. The Cane Creek DB Kitsuma Coil is a highly adjustable rear shock and is built with heavy-duty impacts in mind. You don’t even need a tool or be able to count clicks to take advantage of the perfect tune of low- and high-speed compression and rebound. Combined with a RockShox ZEB Ultimate, riders can look forward to dialing their suspension to the finest detail and according to their riding style. The SRAM X01 Eagle drivetrain with an extended 520% range delivers great performance uphill and precise gear shifting while braking is made easy thanks to the perfect modulation of SRAM Code RSC brakes with Centerline rotors (200mm/200mm). The rider powers the beast by churning Cane Creek eeWing titanium cranks and handles it with a Renthal cockpit set-up. Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Carbon I9 1/1 wheels that have a front and rear-specific tune – stiffer in the rear and with more control in the front. The package is rounded off with MAXXIS Assegai and Minion DHR II tires and the YT Postman dropper post.

YT Industries Capra Launch Edition

The design of the CAPRA Launch Edition is inspired by the GOAT Van. Color, scratches, decals, stickers, and the saddle
represent the look of the van. When it came to the spec, our focus was on something extraordinary, something that
stood out from the crowd and, at first glance, does not seem perfectly matched, like most complete bikes. More like a
custom bike, but with sick components. The highlights are the Cane Creek Shock with progressive spring and the
titanium cranks. The focus was on being super robust with ultimate performance.

The combination of the FOX 38 Float Factory fork and FOX Float X2 Factory rear shock will iron out the biggest impacts a trail can throw your way. SRAM X01 Eagle drivetrain technology and SRAM Code RSC brakes offer premium performance in the toughest conditions. Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Alloy I9 1/1 wheels are durable and come with the high-end specific tune for front and rear. The bike is completed with MAXXIS Assegai and Minion DHR II tires and the YT Postman dropper post.

CAPRA MX/29 Core 3 – Good Times on every adventure

Riders looking for great bike performance with adjustable suspension and the benefits of a carbon frame should take a closer look at the CAPRA Core 3. The High Modulus Carbon Frame available in three colorways ‘Deep Yellow’, ‘Lava Red’, or ‘Black Magic’ achieves the same stiffness and strength of our UM Frames while meeting YT’s high standards at an attractive price point. Big hits and gnarly trails are no match for the Core 3 thanks to the FOX 38 Performance Elite fork and FOX Float X Performance Elite rear shock. The SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain is precise and smooth, while the SRAM Code R brakes offer all the braking power you need on the trail. The Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Alloy wheelset and a combination of MAXXIS Assegai and Minion DHR II tires ensure you have the grip and traction you need.

New Pre-Order Functionality

YT is excited to introduce its new way to pre-order bikes as part of the CAPRA launch. Customers who wish to pre-order a bike with an availability lead time longer than 8 weeks will be asked to pay a 10% fully-refundable deposit to reserve their bike, with the balance being charged four weeks before the bike ships. This deposit ensures a place in line and orders can be cancelled at any time with full refund. It is possible to pay the deposit with Credit Card or PayPal. YT expects to start shipping the first CAPRAs in late 2021 with production volumes ramping up significantly in early 2022. Customers can see their projected ship date when placing their order and the bikes will be shipped in the order that deposits are received.
