The new and improved DT Swiss 240 Hub

Swiss precision bicycle components manufacturer DT Swiss have just updated their already very highly regarded 240 hub.

The new hub is fitted with the Ratchet EXP said to be “lighter, stiffer, more precise and easier to maintain.”

Having had the previous 240 hub on my Transition Throttle carbon Hardtail I must say I am excited to see how they could improve it. The hub is known for reliability and DT Swiss are saying they have improved on that whilst making it even easier to maintain.

240 Hub Specs

As standard the 240 EXP comes with 36-Tooth ratchet but there is an upgrade available for a 54-Tooth ratchet for those riders that like more points of engagement.

DT Swiss say the 36T is the best balance between engagement and pedal kickback from the suspension. Higher points of engagement can make pedal kickback feel more noticeable.

There are 44 models available making this hub compatible with most frames, axels, rims and freehub bodies.

The hub is suitable for all types of bikes from MTB to cyclocross and road. There are even options to allow you to run rim brakes.

DT Swiss are a well known and highly respected brand in the cycle world. Finding a dealer to source these components or you next bike build or upgrade project shouldn’t be dificult.

DT Swiss also have a comprehensive list of dealers available on their website with an easy to use search function based on location.
