Shimano DEORE 12-speed groupset

Shimano has just announced their new 12-speed DEORE groupset. The new 12-speed Deore groupset aims to offer “stellar abilities and performance at a price point which is hard to beat”.

The Deore groupset joins an already proven 12-Speed range. The range now consists of XTR, XT, SLX and now DEORE.

Drivetrain

The DEORE groupset features a single chainring as part of it’s 1×12 drivetrain. They are using their Micro Spline hub which allows for a massive 10-51 gear ratio in an all-steel cassette.

Shimano have improved on their derailleur clutch to improve chain retention with the Dynamic Chain Engagement+.

Brakes

The DEORE brakes are available in either four or two-piston calliper configurations. This allows you to choose the best braking performance for your ride style and type of trails you ride.

The construction of the levers has been improved and made more rigid to follow their higher-end groupsets. Shimano has also used its Servo Wave technology for quicker pad engagement.
