Nukeproof Mega 290c

It’s been a strange to think it’s only a few months since we launched the all new Mega 290c on the back of the amazing achievement of Sam Hill and his 3rd consecutive Enduro World Series title (using both the Mega 275 and 290). There really is no bigger endorsement for the Mega frames than winning 4 EWS World titles in 3 years. Whilst we love racing and it will always be our drive, now more than ever makes you realise how much fun it is to hang out with your mates and shred bicycles on good trails.

Post-race season in late November we assembled our UK athletes to test out some of the new products ahead of the 2020 season. Location of choice was with Adrenalin Uplifts in the stunning Tweed Valley. The weather played ball and treated us to a stunning few days.

For those that don’t know the multitude of MTB riches in Tweed Valley we implore you to get up there when the UK opens back up and explore the goodness. The valley is home to some world class trails & venues. There is a huge variety of trails for all rider styles, levels and skill sets. With the awesome and well-established trail centre at Glentress, home to graded family friendly trails, the awesome fun “spooky woods” and some Enduro World Series natural tech sections. A short ride/ drive down the valley and you get to the legendary village of Innerleithan. Inners has long been a mecca for mountain bikers, home to national Downhill & Enduro races and another waymarked trail centre plus the recently opened up “Golfie” trails.

In recent years there has been much development in the town; from bike essentials like a quality local bike shop & quality coffee shops as well as local services, plus a rise in bike friendly accommodation to coincide with Adrenalin Uplifts opening a full time uplift service on the Innerleithan (& AE Forest) hillside. Inners uplift services a multitude of world class Downhill and Enduro trails.

With the November weather treating us well we ran a couple of days with Gordo and the team on the uplift to test out some new product. To make the most of the amazing weather we headed out early for a quick spin up to Glentress. Along for the ride were Team CRC ace Kelan Grant and Team Wideopen Mag’s Christo Gallagher to have a play in front of the camera on the new Mega 290c (Video and photos by Laurence Crossman Emms).

We appreciate that in the current health climate it’s not the time to get out and shred your bike but if you have a little time check out and start planning some future trips for some future good times and if you head up to Scotland be sure to drop past Adrenelin uplifts for a fine day assisted riding!

Till then Stay safe, stay home and we hope to see you on the trails soon.
