Nox Sox Pedal Covers Review

Nox Sox is a brand created by the guys over at Gone Biking Mad an ex-bike shop gone online store and distributor based in the South of England. They wanted to create a useful range of products to protect bikes from damage caused by parts rubbing one another whilst being transported has started with their signature product, the Nox Sox Pedal Covers

The Nox Sox pedal covers are UK manufactured and are made from durable neoprene the same material used to make wetsuits. They come in two different sizes Small and Large to cover most pedals. For example the Large fit my Crank Brother Stamps and the small fit my gravel bike clipless pedals. The Nox Sox also have two poppers to prevent the sock from falling off the pedal.

The Nox Sox are priced at £15.99 for a pair or £29.99 for two pairs.

Nox Sox Review

The Nox Sox are easy to put on and take off. The two poppers secure the onto the pedals effectively and the neoprene does protect things such as your vehicle from pedal scrapes and scratches.

Between the two sizes (Small and Large) I found that the Nox Sox fitted all the pedals I test nicely. I didn’t have an issue with any being too big or too small however I can imagine pedals such as the Crank Brother egg beaters may be too small but these are an extremely small pedal.

The neoprene is just thick enough to prevent the pedal pins from protruding and although I haven’t been using them for very long I can see that they are durable and should last a long time.

The aesthetics of the Nox Sox are very simple. There are no colour options or patterns to choose from but the simple black fabric with White Nox Sox logo would be the option I would choose anyways. I think they look tasteful.

Price-wise I think they are fairly priced at £15.99. This price certainly won’t break the bank but they could prevent you from causing an expensive scratch to your vehicle.

In summary, I am impressed with the Nox Sox and I will continue to use these when transporting and storing my bikes. Especially as I often transport 2 or more bikes at a time these well prevent them rubbing on the other bikes.

What do you think of the Nox Sox pedal covers? Would you use them? Can you think of a time some pedal protection would have been useful? Let us know in the comments below.
