Giant Airway Dual Side Bottle Cage Review

Giant Bicycle recently sent over their Giant Airway Dual Side Bottle Cage. This dual-sided bottle cage is designed to work with awkward and small frames where you may only have room to insert a bottle from the side and on some bike frames you can only do this from one side. I’ve certainly ridden a few bikes where a side mount bottle cage is the only option as the suspension design prevents you from using a traditional front-mount cage.

Great little bottle cage that offers plenty of options even on those bike frames that are super tight and restrictive.

First Impressions

First impressions of this mount were that it looked nice, nothing special but quite a subtle design in plain black and it comes with two pieces and some fitting hardware. Personally, this is exactly how I like my bottle cages. Who wants to show the cage off when there’s a premium frame.

Giant Airway Dual Side Bottle Cage Review

The Giant bottle cage is really simple to assemble. Just decide which side you want to mount the bottle from and place the smaller piece at the bottom of the main body of the cage. The opening of the cage dictates which side you will mount from. Easy!

The two pieces of the nylon frame are held together using the bottle cage frame mount bolts. So there is no need for any additional hardwear. Fitting the cage is very straight forward and won’t take much longer than mountain a standard bottle cage.

The cage works well. It’s easy enough to place and remove the bottle from the cage. Even when riding which is a bonus for me. I tried fitting this to both my Cipollini gravel bike as well as my Cannondale Habit full suspension trail bike and the cage performed well. The bottle stayed firmly in place and I didn’t lose the bottle at any point during testing.

Great little bottle cage that offers plenty of options even on those bike frames that are super tight and restrictive.
