Ergon GD1 Grips Overview

Ergon is known for its focus on ergonomics and the Ergon GD1 is no exception. To ensure that the grips fit different hand sizes the GD1 is offered in bot 29mm and 32mm diameters and each grips is left and right specific meaning they are shaped to be fitted a specific way for the best comfort and control.

To secure the grips to the bars the Ergon GD1’s feature lock-on collars that have marks to allow you to precisely tweak the angle of the grips to your desired preference.

The grips are made from a semi-soft rubber compound and have many grooves that are optimised to offer the most grip and comfort based on which part of your hand is on the grip. There is a flange for your hands to sit against and grippier zones for your finger tips to really dig in a get purchase.

Ergon GD1 Review

The GD1 Grips are a great MTB grip that offers plenty of traction and allows you to tune the angle to your specific needs and requirements. Ergon has really considered the grip grove pattern to balance optimum grip and comfort.

The rubber compound in my opinion is quite hard which is hard-wearing but does tend to get slippery when wet requiring you to wear gloves. I like to use these grips throughout the summer months but due to the slipperiness when wet I swap them out for something softer and grippier in winter.
