What is the Banff Mountain Film Festival?

If you’ve never heard of the Banff mountain film festival then where have you been? The mountain film festival is held in the town of Banff Canada every year and the winning films then go on a world tour. If you are living in the UK like us then the tour information is here: https://www.banff-uk.com/.

Unfortunately due to the countrywide lockdown the tour has been put on hold and will hopefully be rescheduled for later in the year.

However, luckily for us Banff UK have been kind enough to release multiple collections starting with Collection One of runners up films that were part of the festival but not selected to be part of the world tour.

Below you will find links to the films from Collection One. If you enjoy these films then I would definitely recommend heading over to the Banff UK website to find out when there next live date will be as the atmosphere and quality of the films never disappoints and I’ve been going for years.

These films are necessarily anything to do with mountain biking but are about the mountains, adventure, sport and they sneak in the occasional MTB film too!

Running Order

Banff UK suggests that for the best experience you watch them in this order.

“”You can watch these films in any order and at any time, but for the best viewer experience our suggested running order is: Sand in the Sky, The Mirnavator, The Lorax Project, interval – top up your drink and snacks! The Last Honey Hunter, and Snowflake to finish – we know it will make you laugh and give you that fuzzy feeling.”

What did you think of the films? Let us know in the comments below.

Banff are releasing more collections and we will share them here too.
